Over the last 12 years of it’s existence, Bitcoin has been misunderstood by Silicon Valley which has led to many cringe worthy moments as they’ve endorsed silly ideas and even worse, scams. The two big players in Silicon Valley are the tech companies and Venture Capital (VCs aka investors). The tech companies build the products that we all use, and the VCs fund their endeavors.
another interesting article Dan! thxs Btw I was surprised to see that Paul tudor jones doesn't get btc. he just sees a pattern resembling something he has seen before. So for you the great value is scarcity and security right? but therefore I don't understand if you believe that it is worth building applications on Bitcoin, like DLC or lightening?
Really enjoyed this article – thanks for sharing. I've been engaged in the community subtly for the past 6 months, but it took over 3 of them to realize the distractions and reasons why. This article is a great summary of it. It also helps me understand why some of the original folks in the space have such disdain for certain VC firms.

Personally, I think it is a Godsend that Silicon Valley and VCs didn't "get it" and are only just now coming around. The "little guys" had a real chance to stake their claims before the rest of the world. All it took was a little vision and conviction for those of us who took advantage. Not that everyone took advantage, but hey - that's on them because word has been out there to just about everyone since the 2017 ATH. I agree there is much opportunity that remains and smart minds are needed to reach the full potential in this space...but that will happen. God moves in mysterious ways :)

People not getting Bitcoin is what instilled doubt in my own judgment when I first read the white paper.
I’d look at figures like Bill Gates and Elon Musk talking about it, and I’d be stunned that they don’t see what I see.
